Eleni or Helen (as family, friends and clients call her) was born in Famagusta, Cyprus. After graduating from high school in her home city, she went to England and studied at the Mid-Hertfordshire College of Further Education in Welwyn Garden City, and subsequently at the Pitman’s College in London.
She joined M&M in 1972 and began her career as a Private Secretary to the Senior Partner. After training in our Shipping Department, she became first a Shipping Administrator, then Manager and finally a Legal Executive in the Firm’s Shipping Department.
She is now Head of Shipping at our Limassol Office.
In her day-to-day work, Helen deals with all aspects of merchant shipping from the first registration of a vessel under Cyprus flag until deletion. In addition, she handles all aspects of compliance and regulatory obligations relating to Cypriot shipowning and ship-management companies, both Cypriot and foreign, that the Firm represents and acts on behalf of. She also has extensive experience in dealing with the exemptions required by shipping clients under the International Conventions, as well as in crew matters and statutory certificates.
